Islamic Education

Raising faithful learners through Qur’an, Islamic values, and a competency-based curriculum at Makassed Ali Bin Abi Taleb College.

Nurturing young people who believe in Islam and sincerely uphold its teachings has always been a central objective of both the Makassed Association and Makassed Ali Bin Abi Taleb College.

Islamic Education is reinforced daily from an early age. Students learn about the pillars, principles, values, and practices of Islam, as well as the correct recitation and Tajweed of the Holy Qur’an. Religious occasions are also an important part of school life, with the school choir performing Islamic chants under the guidance of professional trainers and promoting messages of faith, wisdom, and piety.

At the end of Grade 6, students receive a Certificate of Proficiency in Qur’an Recitation during a formal ceremony attended by members of the Makassed community. The teaching, recitation, and interpretation of the Holy Qur’an continue through Grade 12. The Islamic Education Unit also organizes annual competitions in Qur’an recitation and the memorization of the Prophet’s Hadith for intermediate-level students in Makassed schools in Beirut and rural areas.
