The Writing Center at ABAT in collaboration with the Writing Center at the Lebanese American University (LAU)  promotes the school’s mission in providing quality education to support lifelong learners in becoming proficient writers in different genres.

Free writing consultation sessions are provided to all students, faculty of different disciplines, and the Makassed community. Tutors help tutees develop their goals as writers by guiding them to make informed choices, taking into consideration different learning styles to ultimately nurture independent writers.

In the quest for an intervening mechanism, the writing center at our school has a great impact on improving our students’ written communication skills. Our sessions tend to reduce students’ apprehension about their writing abilities and promote positive attitude to writing. Not to mention that several quantitative studies found that writing center tutorials improved students’ writing
